A systematic examination against defined criteria to determine whether activities and related results conform to Health and Safety Standards. It is a structured process of collecting independent information on the efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability of the total health and safety management system and drawing up plans for corrective action.

Consultancy Services

Control measures include equipment, processes, procedures or behaviour to eliminate or minimise risks/hazards.

Crisis Management & Emergency Response Planning and Training

Engineering

Involves accident prevention, reducing the risks associated with human error, and deriving safety benefits from engineered systems and designs. These processes are most easily accommodated at the planning/design stages of a project.

Environmental Management

The management of the interaction and impact of human activities on the natural environment. Also, it aims to prevent and reduce accidents, emergencies, and health issues at work, along with any environmental damage that could result from work practices.

Hazard Identification & Assessment

Hazard Identification is the process of recognizing that a hazard exists and defining its characteristics. Hazard Assessment is the process of estimating the magnitude of a Hazard and deciding what actions will be taken.

H&S Claims Management

Claims against employers about a breach of health and safety regulations must normally be brought by a Health and Safety consultant. Employers can be sued for compensation for personal injury and illness (including psychological injury or illness) that results from a breach of health and safety regulations.

H&S Gap Analysis

A proactive approach to ensure an organisation's health and safety management system is effective and complies with Health and Safety Legislation. It can initially cover a wide range of assessments designed to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

H&S Inspection

A physical and visual inspection of the work environment. H&S Inspection is the process of critically examining the workplace for the identification and mitigation of workplace hazards and to ensure that all standards are met, and the workplace is in fact safe and free from any risks. H&S Inspections are an ongoing process that plays an important role in actively monitoring an organization's safety and adherence to safe practices, designs, services, and products. Safety inspections are also important for insurance issues.

H&S Training, Seminar & Webinar

All employers have a legal and moral responsibility to ensure that employees are adequately trained to do the required work now and in the future, and can do their work effectively, efficiently, and most importantly safely. Employees must be provided with the necessary instruction, information, and training to ensure their health and safety.

Incident and Accident Investigation

An Incident Investigation is an official examination of an unusual, unplanned, undesirable event, apparently of minor significance, which could otherwise cause an accident leading to the loss of property, time, or the health of individuals. An Accident Investigation is a scientific analysis of the facts that occurred during an accident. An investigation is conducted to identify the root cause of an accident in an effort to make recommendations or take corrective actions to prevent the future occurrence of the same or a similar event.

Insurance

This service plays a major role in helping organisations to protect themselves against compensation claims in respect of legal liability for death, disease, damage, or injury; and to manage health and safety risks by providing advice and guidance on assessing and managing risk, and incentivising good behaviour.

Legislation (Compliance)

Compliance in health & safety extends beyond meeting legal duties. It also incorporates the underlying aims and objectives of regulations and may include any necessary licences, permits, and protocols.  A breach of health and safety legislation is usually a criminal offence and may result in heavy fines or even imprisonment. In cases of civil liability, an organisation or individual may be required to pay compensation for injuries or loss sustained, particularly in cases of negligence.

Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)

The overall management system which includes organisational structure, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes, and resources for developing, implementing, achieving, reviewing, and maintaining the OHS policy, and so managing the risks associated with the business of the organisation.

Procurement

Prioritising good health and safety practices as a strategic objective in procurement makes good business sense. It delivers harm reduction, cost savings, enhanced organisational performance and long-term financial gain.

Project Management

Playing a clear and proactive role in injury and illness prevention, and ensuring that scheduling, costs, productivity, quality, and health and safety are all managed for success.

Quality Management

Achieving the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment. Incorporating the principles of sustainable development throughout the business. Also, delivering quality, ensuring health and safety, and minimizing the impact on the environment is the top priority.

Rehabilitation

The process of restoring skills after an illness or injury, helping regain self-sufficiency and function.

Risk Assessment and Management

It includes both risk assessment and risk analysis. Management involves the identification, analysis, evaluation, and prioritisation of current and potential risks. This allows addressing loss exposures and monitoring risk controls and financial resources in order to minimise possible adverse effects of the potential loss.

Safety Culture

The safety culture of an organisation is the product of individual and group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies, and patterns of behaviours that determine the commitment to, and the style and proficiency of, an organisation's health and safety management and programmes. Organisations with a positive safety culture are characterised by communications founded on mutual trust, shared perceptions of the importance of safety, and confidence in the efficacy of preventive measures.

Safety Governance

Safety Governance is the relationship between board members and senior executives in the safety leadership of an organisation. It provides the structure through which the vision and commitment to safety are set; agreement on how safety objectives are to be attained; the framework for how monitoring performance is to be established; and a means for ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation. Understanding where an organisation currently sits on the Safety Governance Pathway is essential for understanding where senior executives and boards are starting from in their approach to safety governance and determining a vision for where an organisation might like to move.

Safety Induction

A Safety Induction is the first step to engaging new contractors, employees, and visitors regarding working safely on-site, and in the workplace. It prepares them for their new role and ensures that they are fully informed about the organisation and are aware of their work and responsibilities. Safety induction serves as a starting point for an organisation to introduce a culture of safety in the workplace. It includes details of how to carry out the job safely, how to report an incident and hazards to be aware of, welfare arrangements, HR contacts, emergency contacts, employee responsibilities, policies and procedures, awareness of relevant risk assessments, and training requirements.

Security

Security overlaps safety somewhat because it can also mean protecting workers from injury, but it is broader and refers to other threats as well, such as sexual harassment, theft, violence, and aggression. A Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) management system provides a structured set of controls for managing HSSE in the business. An effective system helps personnel at all levels to understand the importance of specific risks and delivers the processes to manage and control them.

Site-Specific Safety Plan

A Site-Specific Safety Plan is a documented procedure that is designed to cover the hazards with a high chance of occurrence. It is a highly effective communication tool, and can be developed by subcontractors and main contractors to make sure that all relevant site information is available and regularly updated, and that health and safety are habitually and consistently monitored.

Sustainability

Balancing the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit (social, environmental, and economic responsibility) to achieve long-term success and viability. This means that organisations cannot be sustainable without protecting the safety, health, and welfare of their most vital resource which is the workers. Sustainability is a mindset that requires leadership to not settle for second best in any aspect of operations, but to set and achieve goals beyond regulatory compliance.

Safety analyses and Technical Consulting

Provision of consulting at every project implementation stage concerning the design solutions in order to assess their conformity with the requirements. Safety analyses and Technical Consulting are a fundamental part of all sectors and industries where incidents and accidents can cause harm to personnel, environment, asset, or reputation.

Testing & Monitoring

Testing and Monitoring of specific hazards may take different forms: Environmental, Personal, and Biological. Procedures should be in place for action when results do not conform with exposure standards or show abnormal trends.
